Faktura, 2022

Faktura is a series of 15 unique works exploring painting as a search for the divine through the material language of the medium itself. 

Color and texture do not support image or narrative — they constitute the work. 

Rooted in early 20th-century avant-garde theory, the series references the concept of faktura, which shifted painting from representation toward material presence. The work reverses the traditional hierarchy of painting, where subject overrides formal elements. 

Here, form becomes the subject. Faktura is not about what is represented, but what emerges through surface, pigment, and tactility — an immediate relationship between viewer and material.
