Study of Transformation, 2023
Study of Transformation is a multi-phase project by Yura Kimakovych exploring the structural and emotional nature of change. Rather than presenting transformation as a fixed concept, the project approaches it as an ongoing condition — unstable, layered, and continuously unfolding.
Study of Transformation is a multi-phase project by Yura Kimakovych exploring the structural and emotional nature of change. Rather than presenting transformation as a fixed concept, the project approaches it as an ongoing condition — unstable, layered, and continuously unfolding.
The first phase, Shifted Realities, consists of a limited edition of 50 works. Each piece exists in a state of tension between stability and disintegration, where form is never entirely fixed and perception remains open. Transformation is not treated as a subject, but as a material condition that shapes the experience of the work.
Ownership within this phase extends beyond the individual piece. Collectors gain access to future releases within the series, becoming part of an expanding structure rather than a closed set of objects.
The second phase, Adaptation and Transition Research, deepens this investigation by shifting the focus toward change as a lived, internal process. Composed as a trilogy, it traces a movement from fragmentation and uncertainty toward clarity and self-recognition. Each work functions as a stage within this progression, while remaining open to multiple interpretations.
Across its phases, Study of Transformation operates as an evolving system rather than a static collection. It reflects not only the artist’s internal process, but also the shifting position of the viewer over time. Meaning is not fixed at the moment of viewing — it develops through repeated encounters, context, and personal reflection.
In this way, the project resists stability, proposing instead a model of art that is fluid, responsive, and continuously in transition.
